I’m extremely excited about this blog post for a lot of reasons. December is finally here and with that, there are a lot of fun, winter activities one can do especially in the beautiful city of Chicago. Apart from the fun activities, my amazing, handsome boyfriend is making his first appearance on the blog and let me tell you we had such a wonderful time in the city together taking these pictures. As I mentioned before, the city has a lot of fun activities you can do with your friends, family or loved one and I feel like in order to do all of these things, you need an entire day. Matt and I decided that for our date we wanted to stay around Millennium park for a few reasons. As most of you know, I am obsessed with Nutella and Matt knowing that, decided to take me to the Nutella Cafe located in Michigan Ave. For all of you Nutella lovers out there, I highly recommend stopping there. Each time I go I try to order something new, but so far their Banana Nutella Crepe, their Fresh Flaky Croissant and their waffles are to die for!
After having a light snack and latte at the Nutella Cafe, we decided to do a little exploring starting with the Cloud Gate or also referred as the “bean” right in Millennium park. This is a very famous sculpture in the park where everyone goes to take pictures. The best part about all of that are the views you get from the beautiful city. Everywhere you look there are tons of beautiful buildings with such unique character that will blow you away. Of course, this is the windy city so you have to dress very warm in order to last outside all day. I wore this long, winter coat with my knitted hat, scarf and gloves and I was perfectly fine. You definitely need these three in order to stay warm in the city and enjoy the activities. To end the night, we decided to go ice skating at the McCormick Tribune Plaza. Ice skating is such a fun winter activity that should always be on your bucket list because not only are you laughing with your loved one about everything, but the views you are getting from the city will leave you speechless. To top the views of the buildings, there is a gorgeous, big christmas tree in the middle of the park right next to the skating rink that will put you in a happy mood and will get you in the holiday spirit.
Going to the city is always a great idea and when you have your loved one next to you to enjoy the day with, it makes a world of a difference. Everyone truly deserves a little fun and break from their everyday life and I promise you that this date won’t cost much and it will refresh your mind.
