This past weekend I had the pleasure to take a mini trip to Lake Geneva with my boyfriend and friends for a skiing trip. My boyfriend and I consider ourselves to be adventurous and I love that he always plans the best trips. He always manage to find places that I’ve never been to before that offer amazing activities and no matter where we end up going, it’s always unforgettable. This trip was very exciting for the both of us because it would be our fist time skiing and snowboarding, but to our surprise, we weren’t that terrible. Yes, we fell a few times and those hurt a little but overall, we had such a great time that we would be making another trip very soon. The one thing I highly recommend doing that we forgot to do was to stretch after the activity. We woke up the next day super sore and it lasted a good 2 days.
If you are ever planning a trip to Wisconsin, I recommend visiting Lake Geneva. Lake Geneva is such a beautiful place to visit both during the summer and winter. During the summer its very nice to visit the downtown area and do some shopping, try local restaurants and even go kayaking. During the winter it’s nice to take a trip to Alpine Valley Resort and do some skiing or snowboarding. This resort offers a lot of things including different mountains to go skiing, a restaurant with a beautiful view of the mountains and rooms for you to spend the weekend.
To end such a perfect, fun weekend we stayed at the Abbey Resort in Lake Geneva. Right as we pulled in, we fell in love with their holiday decorations. It created a fun and welcoming environment both on the outside and the inside. The staff was extremely friendly and our room was super cozy and clean. We loved having a balcony outside our room; this is a perfect add on for those summer days. We arrived close to 5pm and we spent all night exploring everything the resort had to offer. We spent sometime at their indoor pool and hot tub and also inside their restaurants. We stopped by one of their restaurant called Waterfront, and we truly enjoyed their food and live entertainment. They also have the Avani Spa indoor that we weren’t able to do due to lack of time, but this would be something to consider to relax you on your mini getaway. As far as breakfast goes, we highly recommend going to Novak’s right across the street from the resort. Their breakfast was to die for, I mean look at the picture! I ordered the Banana Walnut bread french toast and Matt ordered their chorizo omelette and they were both delicious. Let’s just say we left super full and happy!
